One of the most notorious and unique YBAs (Young British Artists) Ofili’s creations contribute to a complex narrative about African culture, black stereotypes, history, and exoticism.

Ofili draws inspiration from an eclectic array of popular, artistic, and religious sources such as the Bible, William Blake, blaxploitation films, hip hop, and his Nigerian heritage.

We loved The New Museum's (NYC) Chris Ofili retrospective that ran during the winter of 2014 and travelled internationally.
